I would imagine that most people would not think a 16th anniversary of a child’s murder could be sweet. My son, Christopher Robin Hotchkiss was murdered by Mark James Taylor 16 years ago.
My grief journey has been a real life education. I do feel that I need to concentrate my human efforts on the sweet. I have chosen to live and thrive, to walk carefully and kindly in the world and make sure my steps count.
One of my favorite quotes is:
What do we live for if not to make life less difficult for each other? George Elliot
So, I will celebrate Christopher; I don’t not want to dread this day anymore. I want to be a happy mother. Look upward and send a smile.
